Hello Vargis and the rest of people reading this such interesting blog,
First of all, many thanks for your information Vargis. This kind of blogs makes you feel comfortable when traveling by your own. You do a great job for tourists and people wanting to explore Ladakh region.

I would be pleased if you could let me know your opinion and suggestions on the following issues:
I'll be traveling to India for 17 days between Sept 9-24 with a friend. It's our first time there and sadly very short but we want to squeeze it as much as possible!

Question 1 - The special permission to visit Pangong Tso can be obtained at Leh agencies? How much does it cost approximately?

Question 2 - We get to Leh by plane but we want to go to Manaly by road. We understand that weather will not be an inconvenient!
I have checked the bus schedules and just on September 13, when we want to get off, there is no service. Our second option is to do it by private taxi but I would like to know if we can choose the departure time. We plan to be in Lamayuru that day and leave around 16pm towards Keylong. Can we arrange a taxi to take us directly or do we have to go first to Leh?

Question 3 - What is the temperature average in the first half of September? Do we have to wrap up a lot or is therestill good weather?

Question 4 - We are arriving early in the morning, around 7am. Do we need to rest all day or could we visit the Palace and Bazar already after lunch?

Thanks for your time and help! :)

Hi Laura, little help and information from my side, regarding ur trip.

1 for pangong permit I.e pap(protected area permit) can be obtained from website n payment it be done in leh, or hotel which ur staying ask him he can arrange just let him know n charges for that will be approx 600~800 this is approx.
2.for return by road from leh,for road condition and taxi Virghis bhai can tell u more better, Bt temperature will be ohk not too cool, as rainy season will be there,
Also i dont think from lamayaru u will be able to come to keylong, u will need one nt stop.
    4. For acclimatazion after reaching in leh at mrning you can go to bazar and palace, in the evening after 4 just don't exert yourself too much.

Rest virghis bhai can give u more clear advice and suggestions regarding ur queries, just follow his guidelines.

    Thanks a lot Kamlesh Bhai.

Hi Laura, I will second Kamlesh's thoughts here to your questions. PAP will cost about Rs. 600 - 800 including payable charges as well as the commission of the travel agent. The HPTDC bus may not be available on 13th but HRTC bus will be. That is a daily service. As Kamlesh rightly answered, you cannot do Lamayuru to Kargil in a day. That is just not possible. Weather will be pleasant in early September.

    Hi Kamlesh Bhai,

Yes the HRTC Bus is a daily service. As a matter of fact, this year onward they turned it into a one day journey. Start from Leh by 4 AM and reach Manali by 10 in the night.

Do share some pics of your trip if possible Bhai. I am glad that your trip went well.
