    Hello Vergis,

First up all thank you very much for your various blogs, this is very much useful for everyone who is planning for adventure trips.

We are group of 5-6 people planning motorbike to Spiti Vally from 29July to 7th Aug. Below is our itinerary. I am not expert rider and never drive in mountains. I am bit worried since monsoon will be guess lots of water crossing & possibly slippery road?

So would like to know is it safe to drive for me?
Also do you have any suggestions in below itinerary?
    Any suggestions for AMC ?

29 July - Pick up from Chandigarh airport (reaching around noon) and proceed to Narkanda
    30 July- Sangla
    31 July - Tabo
    1 Aug - Kaza
    2 Aug - Kaza
    3 Aug - Chandratal
    4 Aug - Udaipur
    5 Aug - Killar
    6 Aug - Killar
7 Aug - Dalhousie and drop at Pathankot railway station. or goto Dharmshala

    Thank you very much.

Thanks a lot for your response.

I used to drive my Spelndor almost daily for 5-6yrs but not now much as I work outside India so only when I come for my vacation.

Also let me know if you have any suggestion for on our itinerary!

In that case brother I will recommend that you either postpone the trip until September 1st week or give up Sach Pass. I would not really recommend someone who doesnt have much riding experience and no riding experience in hills to go to Sach Pass in Monsoon.

Thanks a lot... I will choose to sit in 4*4 support vehicle then :).

    Does Iternary looks okay??

LOL ... Yeah that will be a good choice too. Ride where you can or sit in the support vehicle.

Itineary is a bit stretched at a few places. Chandratal to Udaipur will be way too long. Better do it till Keylong and then Keylong to Killar. Killar to Pathankot on the last day too seems a bit way too long a journey.

    Thanks again,

Yes I too felt so and additionally, google map showing road (tandi-kishtwar) closure till Nov 17 near "kirting", directions suggesting enroute via manali.. you aware of this road situation ?

That road is open, don't worry about it. Google map shows closed because the main road got washed away earlier this year in Monsoon but there was a temporary road constructed for traffic movement. I think even the main road is now restored.
