Day 2 - Dhanaulti
Next morning was a cloudy one, with no sign of sun and fog and clouds everywhere. After breakfast, we all decided to trek upto Tapowan, also called Pariyon ka mandir, a hilltop that offers a magnificent view of the valley all around. Though due to the clouds we knew that we wont be able to see almost anything, we still decided to go to the top anyway.
Just as soon as we had started trekking up, we heard a dog barking at us. Shit scared of dogs that i am, i immediately trekked down to the road and told others that i would take a different trek and join them further up on the trek. I had been to Tapovan a few times before in my earlier trips so i knew there were others treks too that led to the top of the hill. So i convinced myself not to cross the scary dog and take a different route alone. However when i got to the trek that i intended to take, i found it covered with bushes and shrubs, and almost not visible. So i was left with no other option to go back and take the same trek that others had and overcome my fear of the barking dog. Unfortunately, just then it started to rain and i hurried back to the hotel because i had my SLR in my hand with no protection from the rain.
It was a couple of hours before others returned from Tapovan and till that time, i was just walking around alone in the rain, clicking photographs with my SLR wrapped in a polybag.
After everyone was back, we relaxed for a while at the hotel and then got out again in the evening for sight seeing.
Time for a few games of chess, which by the way i won all.
Climbed up to this temple at another hilltop.
Climbed down a few hills.
Time for a group photo, that an over-friendly dog also joined to pose for.
Once again it was dark while we were on our way back to the hotel. Me and Salam were on my motorcycle with others following in the car when suddenly the silencer off my bike came off and fell on the road. We checked and found that the screws had come undone somewhere. So now Salam was sitting on the bike holding the silencer while we rode in the silent valley with my silencer-less bike destroying the silence all around.
Back at the hotel.
Time for dinner and to call it a day.
