    Hi Vargis,

We are 4 (2 couples) from Hyderabad. Initially we planned for a bike trip from Manali to Leh (only one way).
We read your post that even buses are available from Manali. We are planning to reach Delhi on 6th of july (Friday) and Manali on 7th of July ( Saturday). Planning to catch Bus in Manali to Leh on 8th July (Sunday) morning and reach leh by night. We are planning to visit pangong lake, magnetic hill, numbra vally ,Zanskar valley, and any other imp places by taking bike on rent. Is 3-4 days will be enough?
Also from leh We are planning to reach Srinagar on 5th day (Friday) and go to Gulmarg.
We are planning our return from Srinagar on Sunday to Hyderabad by Flight.

July 7th to July 15th - Is it a right time to travel?
    3/4 days enough for Leh?
In Srinagar we may be spending 1-11/2 days. is it enough? or its better not to club Leh & Srinagar trip? or we should spend a day more in Srinagar?

    Request your suggestions over this.

    Regards
    Yasaswini

    Hi Yasaswini,

    1. Yes July is a good time to go
    2. Yes 4 days would be sufficient for sightseeing in Ladakh but you will not be able to cover all.
    3. Yes you can do sightseeing in Srinagar in a day and a half but will not be able to cover all.

Since you are traveling by public transport, I will highly recommend that you do not bound yourself to a strict timeline. Keep at least 2 days in buffer.

Thanks Vargis for your quick reply,

I haven't prepared a clear itinerary yet. I ll post it tomorrow or on Friday.

Also I would like to know bike travel by 2 couples, is it safe? will we face problem if there is a break down? Also usually how much they charge for bikes? and if we want to ride only one way, how much it may cost?

Safe or not depends on your riding skills brother. If you have decent enough experience then yes it is safe enough to rent a bike as well. Breakdown will be a concern but just hire from a good contact a bike that is in good condition and you won't face that problem.

Where will you rent the bikes from, Manali?

One way rentals are available too but they usually charge an additional amount for leaving the motorcycles at a difference place.
