    Hello Mr.Vargis Khan

I am a solo traveller and will be flying into Leh on the 27th morning. I will have time until the 31st afternoon for sightseeing. After that starting from the 11th of November, I can take a few more days to stay there. I have a few questions. It would be very helpful if you could give me some information on this.

    1. Will it be possible to rent a bike and go to the Nubra Valley and come back to Leh within two days, for e.g., on the 29th and 30th?
    2. Will it be possible to go to Pangong Tso on the 11th or 12th of November? Once again, I am thinking of renting a bike.
    3. Any possibility of buses operating to Manali/Srinagar post 11th of November?

Your response will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for the quick response. Any necessary precautions that you would advise for me to take as a solo bike traveller, except for preparing for the cold weather??

May want to watch out for black ice on the roads. Do not start early, wait for the sun to come up and black ice to melt.

Anil, the roads will be closed in December. So you have to fly in & out of Leh for sure.

You can use a day for acclimatization and get permits. Hopefully the inner areas like Pangong & Nubra Valley should be open for sightseeing.

Vargis Bhai can shed more light on the topic.

The route to Nubra and pangong can be closed if there is any snowfall but it will be open in a day or two.

These route have passes so incase of snowfall it may be closed but the border road organization will make it through as soon as possible according to previous trends.

Many hotels will be closed as all the hotels in Ladakh doesnt have central heating facility but you will find lot of them still operationala in Leh. So advise to check and book in advance.

    Day 1 | Delhi – Leh, Rest & acclimatization
Day 2 | Leh Local Sightseeing + Permits
    Day 3 | Leh – Khardung La – Diskit – Hunder
    Day 4 | Hunder / Diskit – Sumur – Panamik – Sumur – Khardung La – Leh
Day 5 | Day trip to Pangong Tso
Day 6 | Fly back home

Would recommend the above itinerary as suggested in another travel forum.

But always keep a couple of buffer days in winters as the weather is highly unpredictable.
