    Hi Vargis bhai,

I am planning to take Solo trip to Leh and the route goes like this,
    Chandigarh-Manali-Leh-Kargil-Srinagar-Chandigarh.

Kindly advice/correct me about the route which I have planned.

    My queries are,

I am getting my Apache 160Cc bike. Will it fix to the road and pull in the hilly area(Pangong lake) without any trouble?
If I get my friend's bike, is there any problem as all the documents will be in his name and I will be riding the bike.?

The only concern is, I should not be in trouble with my bike as I am planning for Solo trip.

    Kindly advise me!!

Pramod Bhai, your Apachae will be fine for the trip. Just travel light and do not bring unnecessary weight.

Do not go by your friends bike. If you do, then you will have to leave it parked at the hotel in Leh and then rent another bike from there for sightseeing.

Thank you for your reply Vergis bhai.

As I discussed with one of my friend who has traveled before, he said me that Apache 160Cc will not pull on the way to Pangong!
I am planning for first time, that too Solo and I need your advise for this.

I am reaching Chandigarh on 13 July eve at 1800 hours. And returning back from Chandigarh on 24 July around 0300 hours.

How can I plan my 10 days? And what will be the route?
And I need few information about condition of roads, whether, water slides. And if I need any help in mid of the way, whom & how can I contact?
How can I arrange Petrol as my bike tank capacity is less then Royal Enfield!
And what all I need to carry along with me in my trip?

    Thanks in advance.

No if you are traveling light and your bike is well maintained than it will be fine. For 10 days trip, see the article below,

    Thank you Bhai,

The link was very useful to plan my trip.

    The very 2 questions which are bothering me are;

    1. How & when can I take permits from Manali to Leh and Leh local? And which all the documents need to carry to get the permits?
    2. As we are hearing lot of news of stone pelting in Kashmir, are all the roads open for the trip and people are allowed to see the places? Is it safe to travel now?

    Awaiting for your reply.

    Thanks and regards.

Pramod Bhai for permits, please see the two articles below. I have provided all the details here.

    http://vargiskhan.com/log/obtaining-ilp-for-ladakh/

As for Kashmir, no one can really guarantee anything. Things change there overnight. All that I can tell your right now is that it is safe to go as of now.

Thank you. All your blogs are very useful.

As I am going for the first time, few more info I need to know before I start my journey.

    1. What will be the per day cost for stay per person? I am going solo, will that cost me huge?
    2. Will we get map and information about the routes to roam in & around Leh?
    3. What all I need to carry from Bengaluru for safe and healthy trip(say, medicines, Bike accessories, and personal belongings)?

    Thanks in advance.
