A reader and now also a friend recently traveled on Spiti circuit; and was kind enough to share information on hotels in Spiti valley and other places that she stayed at. This information and reviews I believe can be of help to other people as well. I will copy and paste the write up provided here in this article.

    Narkanda
Our 1st stay was at Narkanda and we stayed at Hotel Snowflake, owned by Mr Sunny and his father. They have 3 types of accommodation- Deluxe Rs 2750, Semi Deluxe-Rs 2350 and Standard- Rs 1500. Tariffs are variable according to season. Ours was Deluxe room and they charged us Rs 2000/- for a night.

    Sarahan
Our 2nd night stay was at Hotel Trehan, owned by Mr Pawan Trehan. Pawan uncle is a very gentle man. They also have 3 types of room rates- Super Deluxe, Rs 1800 per night, Deluxe- Rs 1200 and Standard- Rs 900. Here again we had Super Deluxe room, tariff being Rs 1400 for a night.

Another hotel at Sarahan deserves special mention, Hotel Snow View. It is quite excellent in terms of room decor, hotel facilities. The owner is a real gentleman and a friend of Dalip Ji.

    Rakcham
Our next stop was at Rakcham. Unfortunately Chitkul hotels were full so Mr Dalip arranged our stay at Hotel Golden Pie, owned by Mr Aman Ahuja. Aman is quite a jolly fellow and takes quite good care of the guests. His hotel is in an apple orchard so it was quite delightful for us. Our rooms were in the top floor with wooden flooring and ceiling and the best in terms of view. Fact be told here, there are 5 rooms on the top floor and they are for hotel use only. We were given priority treatment because of Mr Dalip. Also, we got to witness the best sunrise on the snow covered peaks. We stayed there for 2 nights and they charged us Rs 1500 per night. Food here is awesome. Mr Aman and Dalip Ji had arranged a bonfire in our honour on the 2nd night.

    Kalpa
Our next stopover was at Kalpa and we stayed at Hotel Golden Pie again, owned by Mr Mukesh Ahuja. Mukesh ji and Aman ji are brothers and both are excellent hosts. Mukesh ji is a very cordial and patient man. Here again our tariff was Rs 1500 for a night. The dinner we had was very simple yet tasty.

    Tabo
On our 6th day of the tour we reached Tabo and stayed at Tashi Khangsar near the helipad. The owner here is Mr Rana and he has another accommodation, Hotel Tiger Den, which is just a few minutes of walk away. Tashi Khangsar is more like a homestay in the middle of a big apple orchard. It has a tranquil environment and quite blissful specially for couples. Our room rate was Rs 1000.

    Mudh Village (Pin Valley)
Next morning we moved towards Mudh village and stayed at Pin Parvati paying guest house, owned by Pradhan Ji as he is generally revered. The interiors were done quite tastefully and had a very big washroom. There was a young charming lady in this guest house who served us delicious food. We were charged Rs 700 for a night which was quite cheap given the decoration.

    Kaza
Our next stop was at Hotel Spiti Valley opposite the Kaza monastery in Kaza. It is owned by Mr. Tanzin Rabgay, 09418927312. Here again the rooms were quite spacious and we had valley view room. Food is super tasty here. Mr Tanzin is very friendly and knowledgeable. Again here we were given royal kind of treatment and made to feel completely at home. Room tariff was Rs. 1500 for a night.

    Chandratal
At Chandrataal we stayed at Jamaica's Camps, owned by Mr. Jamaica. We stayed in one of the Swiss cottages with attached washroom. We were the only guest in at the camps at that time. Other camps were already closing down or had packed up earlier as the night temperatures had started to dip to -10-11degrees centigrade. Our accommodation was according to MAP style and we really enjoyed our stay here with Mr. Jamaica. He is indeed a great host and knows how to treat his guests well. Evening at his camps at Chandratal was probably the best part of our entire trip.

    Jibhi
Our last destination was at Jibhi, a quite hamlet in Kullu district. Jibhi is a beautiful serene place distant from the rush and noise of Shimla, Manali. Again we decided to try this spot at the recommendation of Dalip Ji. We stayed at Doli guest house, owned by Mr B.S. Rana who is a retired army major. Rana uncle is a very down to earth person, mountain and nature lover. He has styled his guest house in an environment friendly way. The room rate was Rs 800 per night.
