Hello Kakali - Thank your for your appreciating words. Chamba / Dalhousie to Sach Pass and back on the same day is not really advised, way too long a journey specially around the dates of your travel when the pass may or may not even have opened. Reach Bairagarh, then do Sach Pass in a day, be back to Bairagarh by evening and reach Dalhousie the next day.

    Sat Sri Akal Brar Bhai.

Do you recall the name of the lake? There are several trek routes around this area but honestly I am not really aware of any famous lakes around here.

Hello Dr. Dungrani, Both Royal Enfield and Thar are perfect for the trip. You can definitely do it and it wont be needing any modifications at all actually. For backup vehicles, ask the company that you are renting motorcycles from, they usually provide this support at an additional cost. Just carry some essential spares like clutch, accelerator, brake cables, extra tubes, foot pump etc and you will be Ok. There are no set camping areas on the way, you will have to look for an area wide enough to pitch your tent. For fuel stations and food, please take a look at the following article.
