Starting this thread to track the situation in Kashmir for tourists planning to travel this year.
Situation right now is under control. There is no word of unrest of anywhere in the valley and a lot of tourists are traveling indeed. It has started to snow all over Kashmir region so now is a good time for a winter trip before the roads start to get completely blocked in January and February.
The recent blast that killed 42 CRPF man has the entire valley and the country on the edge right now. How it is going to affect the opening of the road and the tourist season is something that only time will tell. A curfew has been imposed in several places. If you were planning to visit Kashmir anytime soon, then I would strongly recommend that you put your plans on hold for a while and wait for the tension to ease down.
Whow, an airstrike!!!! What is your take on the situation?
This is definitely not a time to be visiting Kashmir with war clouds looming Hans but I am hoping it will be all over in next few weeks.
Do you have any insight into the situation??
Traveling to Kashmir from 30 th March to 4 th April,is it safe
As of now it is now. Tourists are in fact trying to get out of the valley due to the tension along the border. We will have to see how it unfolds in coming weeks.
We r planning to visit kashmir in last week of March 2019 for 6-7days. With 2 children.i want to know will it be safe to visit after phulwama attack...or we should cancel our visit..
Plz suggest us as it is an issue of safety.
No one can really confirm anything Bhawana Ji. Things can change in Kashmir in a matter of hours. It is safe as of now is all that I can tell you. Places like Gulmarg and Pahalgam are a safe bet to visit.
