    Hi Vargis!
We are group of three bicycle tourists from Russia. We have already been in Ladakh last year, and we like it much! Manali - Karagil through Shingo La and Padum.
Now we want to make a round trip Leh - Khalsar -Agham - Sakti - Tangtse - through Merak to Cheshul - Kaksang La - Mahe - Tanglang La - Leh. From 11 to 25 september.
Is there any completely closed places on this route? Doesn't accessible even with permit?
Will all passes open at this time?
And is there a way to get permit for Marsimik La or Umling La? )))

Thank you very much for all your work helping us in this beautiful place!

As far as the passes being open due to snow or not, I think it's a 10% chance, considering history, that you would find a snow fall at some of above mentioned passes and high altitudes. This year the state experienced snow for an extra month. So you really can't know.
As far as the permits are concerned, I doubt that you will get permit for Umlinga or Marsimik la, because even Indians have a trouble in finding permits. One must know somebody or some important contacts for that. Even if you are allowed that will be without any electronic devices etc.
    I wish you luck brother.
    Welcome to India.

Hi Panda - Foreign nationals are not allowed on Chushul route so you will not be able to go beyond Merak.
